How It Works

Five simple steps. No science degree required.
If you can grow a plant and write a few notes, you can do this.

1

Create a free account

You'll need a name and an email address. That's it. No credit card, no long forms, no hoops.

Takes about 30 seconds.

2

Start a project

Think of a project like a notebook for one growing effort. Give it a name (like "Backyard Tomatoes 2026" or "Taro Patch โ€” Season 2"), say where you are and what you're growing. That's your project.

You can have as many projects as you want.

3

Log what you do and what you see

This is the heart of it. Whenever something happens, you log it:

๐ŸŒฑ Sowing
What you planted, when, how.
๐Ÿ‘ Observation
What you noticed. Take a photo.
๐Ÿงช Amendment
Which solution, how much, how.
๐Ÿ’ง Watering
How much, what method.
๐ŸŒพ Harvest
What you picked, how much.
๐Ÿ“‹ Weekly Report
A quick journal entry.

You don't have to log everything. Even just observations and amendments make a valuable record.

4

Watch your timeline grow

Every record shows up on your project's timeline โ€” in order, with dates. Over weeks and months, you see the full story of your growing season. It's like a photo album for your farm.

Great for remembering what worked โ€” and what didn't.

5

Share it when you're ready

Your project is private by default โ€” only you can see it. When you're comfortable, flip one checkbox to make it public. Other growers and researchers can then browse your project and learn from what you've documented.

Totally optional. Your project is valuable either way.

Common Questions

Do I need to be a scientist?

No. You need to be a grower who writes things down. That's it.

How often do I need to log things?

There's no schedule. Some people log every few days, some once a week, some whenever they remember. Anything is good.

What if I mess something up?

You can edit or delete any record. Nothing is permanent until you want it to be. Messy data from a real farm is more valuable than no data at all.

Is it really free?

Yes. This is a project of the Pure KNF Foundation. We built it because we need this data to exist โ€” for grants, university partnerships, and to help KNF get the recognition it deserves.

Why does this matter?

Every observation, harvest, and photo adds to a growing body of proof. Together we're building something no single farm could create alone.
